Researcher-led calls

Applicants can submit outline proposals at any time during the year, with three cut-off dates when applications will be considered by the Programme Advisory Board.

The next cut-off date to submit outline proposals is 10 May 2010 by 1pm.

 

We strongly advise that applicants read the guidance notes in full before filling out the outline proposal form to ensure that it meets the expected criteria.

New Tips for success in applying to the PHR programme now available to download.

Requirements to support research in the NHS: this is a copy of the letter sent to all NHS trusts and SHAs regarding recent policy statements and operational requirements for research in the NHS. Applicants are recommended to view this information if their projects include any NHS components or partners.

Assessment dates

Proposals received by 1pm on the 10 May 2010 and deemed within remit will be assessed for their importance to public health by the Programme Advisory Board on 07 July 2010. Applicants will be advised of the status of their applications after this meeting.

Shortlisted proposals from this round will be considered by the Research Funding Board on 13 October 2010 who will assess for scientific quality, feasibility and value for money. Decisions from the Research Funding Board will be communicated to applicants by late October 2010. Following this meeting successful outline proposal applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal. Applicants have eight weeks to complete a full application form for it to be considered at the next Research Funding Board.

NETSCC is part of the University of Southampton.The NIHR Public Health Research programme is funded by the NIHR, with contributions from the CSO in Scotland, WORD in Wales and HSC R&D, Public Health Agency, Northern Ireland.
